Literary texts that flow

Literary & creative translation

Translating is so much more than just switching words from one language to another.

It’s about putting your finger on the essence of the words and making the readers of the translated text feel the same way the readers of the original do.

Because that’s the only way to really connect with your English or German-speaking audience, turning them into your biggest fans or your most ardent supporters.

Editing & proofreading

Correct grammar and punctuation are the backbones of any written text.

Not only are they important in conveying meaning – they’re also key to making carefully crafted texts flow! Blips and tiny typos could be what takes your words from yay to nay.

As an editor and proofreader, I’ll keep the big picture in mind, while making sure your texts are coherent and flawless and staying true to your tone of voice.

About

Half American, half English, growing up in Germany and now based in Denmark, it’s no surprise languages play a big role in my life.

After completing my Master’s in German, English and Russian literature, language and culture, I spent a couple of years in the wonderful world of publishing before going freelance in 2011. Over the years I have honed my skills through continuous professional development and narrowing down my specialisms.

I am a member of the German Literary Translators Association (VdÜ), the Association of Danish-English Literary Translators (DELT) and the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).

When I’m not at my desk, you will usually find me going for long walks, whipping up delicious vegan dishes or training at the dojo.
